Ok so here is my problem.

I have had my computer for about 7 months. I built it myself. I was literally doing nothing and I tried to change my background but then the blue screen came up. "and error has occured blah blah." So I rebooted the computer. Now the computer will not even appear on my moniter at boot screen. i press the power button. All the lights come on. and all the fans come on. but nothing comes on the screen. and when something does come on the screen it just says "XFX play hard" and stays on that screen. I cannot get into the BIOS or anything. My power supply isnt the issue ive checked it. Like i said everything has been completely fine for 6 months and then this randomly happened. I have no idea what has happened. I know my power supply is not the problem i have tested it.

Any suggestions?

I used a power supply tester. everything came on good. thats why i said that.

my specs are :

intel E8400
XFX 680i motherboard
ATI radeon 4870
4G Corsair System Memory
Western Digital 300G harddrive

Reset the CMOS according to the manual. It's usually a jumper, but may be a button on your board or they may want you to remove the battery.

If that doesn't do it then I have to think it's either the motherboard, CPU, or GPU.

i have somewhat found the problem. both sticks of Ram work individually but when I try to put both in at once no matter what slot it doesnt boot. but like i said with only 1 stick it boots normally.

Run CPU-Z and discover the correct voltage and timings for your RAM on the SPD tab.

CPU-Z

Reboot into the BIOS and makes those settings manually, then see if it will boot with both sticks. If not, it possible the board has gone, at least the second memory slot.

You can also try placing the RAM in the same channel.
