Hello,
Took everything of computer on to usb external drive reformated computer and want to place most of programs back on but when plugin to usb come up with hasnt passed windows logo test and strongly recommends shutting down do i go ahead and install or not

Yes, and ignore this message in the future. All it means is microsoft didn't get paid a royalty to use the Windows logo on the product.

Just make sure you have anti-virus installed first. you will re-infect yourself with whatever nasties were in your PC before. if you do not have one, 2 good free Anti virus apps are Microsoft Security Essentials and Avast!
