So this is what I'm looking at right now.
For full context:
Can anybody give me some fine points on cleaning massive amounts of dirt and dust off of motherboards, video cards, etc.? The only thing I'm not taking apart is the CPU and it's fan; that stays connected to the motherboard. I don't trust myself to get it back on easily.
Thanks!
Also, hello! I'm new to the forum.

So this is what I'm looking at right now.
For full context:
I'm just a wee little lad of 18, and I'm trying to clean out all the dust and general crap from my sort of gaming computer, after running it for quite a few years, rarely turning it off, and even more rarely cleaning it. It usually sits on the ground.
All day. Every day.
For about four years.
Add to that the horrible cable job that my father (he's a systems engineer for Pete's sake) did when actually putting it all together, and you've got yourself a hell of a mess for disaster; my computer runs slow every time I try to launch a demanding application (or Google Chrome lmao). I've burnt through three power supplies in two years. My computer started shutting off randomly the other day when my brand new one came in (a Corsair CX600M, a good one for a change! I'm not letting this one die out), likely due to the fact that ALL of the extra cables were plugged into the power supply and draped into the nothingness of the tiny case I have.
So, here's what I need to do:
-Clean all the dust off of every single component that's in my computer
-Put it all back together
-Possibly find extra nails, considering I'm missing quite a few.
Here's what I've got:
-A screwdriver with a whole lot of interchangeable heads
-A can of compressed air
-A flashlight / smartphone
-An old microfiber cloth (for cleaning, in case I need it instead of the can of air.)
