In the past if I made a new character I could go to "Desktop"
in the UO program, open to the account I want on the shard
I want, and copy from one of the old characters to the new
character all the files from the "Macros.txt file" and all of
the macros would be set just like on the other characters.

Cant seem to do that now. I have tried several times, and
all it does is wipe everything clean on the new character.
If I look in the "macros.txt file, everything seems to be
there, but when I go into game, nothing works.

One other thing, where did "bandage self" go? I cant find
it on the macro list when I try to set up new macros.
"Target self" is there, but not "bandage self.

Hope someone has some answers.

Thanks,

Ice

IIRC, 'bandage self' has only been a UOA function, unless I missed
something. It always struck me as strange. I've just tried copying some
macros across from one a/c to another, and it's ok here. But I'm using 3d,
don't know if that makes a difference.

Sorry

It's possible she's not copying to the right folder. The client on
the update disc sets up to a subfolder under the EA Games folder, not
the Ultima Online folder under Program Files that older versions were
installed to. When you launch from the new desktop icon it calls up
the UO subfolder under EA Games, not c:\program files\ultima online\
anymore.

If I get back first, let me know that I'm
looking for myself and don't let me leave.

You copied the desired macro.txt file into the char folder *after*
creating the new character? That should work. It uses the macro.txt
from the root folder as the template so I usually just replace that one
when I've reinstalled UO with my own macro.txt template file. (My chars
all use mostly the same macros except for the paladins.)

That's a UOA macro, I think. Maybe you're confusing UO macros with UOA
macros? Depending on whether you use the "global" macro setting of UOA
you should have macros in your UOA folder (\UOAssist\UOA-Settings).

Ok, I open Ultima Online 2D/** [Desktop}- [accountname] -[shard name]
[character name] -macros.txt...... I also replaced athe macros.txt.bak.

If there is some other place now, I do not know what it is.
