I am looking for a way to get wireless to our shop via the wifi at the house. There is about 200 ft between the two, so if I go with burying cat5e, would I just plug one end into the router at the house, run it thru the wall and then underground to the shop and then into another router at the shop to have wireless there?

That would provide the best internet access. You could get a set of point-to-point WIFI bridges. Or you could get an outside WIFI access point on your house pointed at the shop. Those are the three possible options. Cable is always best, but is the most difficult.

So it looks like burying the cable is too much work. Which would be my next best bet? the range/booster repeater or ptp WIFI bridges? I don't know anything about either one. Thanks much!

Is your requirement primarily for inside the shop? If so, then a point-to-point wireless bridge with an indoor access point would be best. It will be more expensive ($250 give or take). An outdoor access point on the house directed to the shop, would be less expensive ($150) and would cover outdoor area and should improve indoor access.

Yes inside the shop is what we need. I was just looking at this: http://www.amazon.com/EnGenius-Technologies-2-4GHz-Wireless-ENH202/dp/B006M1PKWY/ref=pd_sim_147_3?ie=UTF8&dpID=21U5Frb7jHL&dpSrc=sims&preST=_AC_UL160_SR160%2C160_&refRID=05NWGE3RJQQ3YMH3JR4A

Some comments that I have read said they just use one at the router at the house and are able to get access 500 ft away without a second unit. Thoughts on that ?
