I recently built a PC and am keeping it in my bedroom which is in the attic of the house i live in my modem is on the ground floor my house has 3 floors i am a gamer and want really good broadband speeds my PC does NOT have WIFI i play a lot of GTA and FPS games i need help on a really good solution i probably could route some cables around my house but i want to know the difference of getting fast speed powerline or whatever vs ethernet i have at least £60-£70 budget (may stretch to £100 and will probably save up for the extra budget) i need help

Cat5e...

Well ethernet is always the way to go. It's the most stabled, and will work most of the time. Thing is, how do you plan on routing from the ground floor to the attic? In the walls? You can use Powerline, but not sure if that will do justice, because tht signal is going to have to find a way to bounce UP.

i am not sure i was thinking of routing around the outside of my house as i do not want to drill holes in the wall as it would be a bit too much effort i will see but can you recommend the type of ethernet cable i should use and the expected cost for at least 100 ft of the stuff also HOW slow would powerline be as it is less of a hassle to deal with as you just connect 1 kit to the modem and the other to the PC

Powerline is not "line of sight". The signal is pumped through the house wiring.
You're thinking of WiFi.

Connection options, in order of performance, decreasing:

1. Ethernet. Fastest and most stable.
2a. Powerline. Pumps the signal through the house wiring. Possibly slower, depends a LOT on the house wiring.
2b. MOCA. Similar to powerline, but pumps the signal through the house coax. This requires coax run throughout the house.

3. WiFi. This is far down the list for a reason. Less reliable, susceptible to interference and house construction.

My ISP has up to 200 Mbps download speed for regular consumers though they do have faster business broadband and i pay for 150Mbps and get up to at least 160 on tests done on ookla speed test i was wondering how much would i get with extremely fast powerline and why does wifi powerline cost so much 2000 Mbps powerline from reputable brands costs around £50 where i live on amazon but the 1200Mbps with wifi goes for 2x the price minimum on average from reputable brands

i do not think it is suitable for outdoor use and it is too expensive for an ethernet cable i saw a 100ft outdoor rated pre crimped etherbnet cable with good reveiws on Amazon for under £12 i want to know how fast is the speed of say a 150 ft ethernet cable as i am not 100 sure if i can manage to route the 100 ft cable all the way or i may need an extension cord of some type

Cat5e ethernet will do full speed up to 100 meters (330 feet). Assuming a non-crappy cable, full gigabit performance.
