Greetings, I'm new here.
I've done some searching here and there but can't seem to get a straight final answer on this.
I figure to go with 16GB (2x8), but unsure on brand or speeds.
I seem to be torn between these two, but I'm totally up to any other recommendations.

G.SKILL Sniper Series DDR3 1866 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231627
or
CORSAIR Vengeance DDR3 1600

To my (limited) knowledge, my Mobo is fine with 1866, but is the CPU?
Also, keep in mind that I'm considering OCing in the future.
Any input would be appreciated.

Here's what I have...

Processor:
AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition Deneb 3.4GHz

Motherboard:
GIGABYTE GA-990FXA-UD3

Okay I wasn't sure if RAM behaved like that. So even if the components only support up to a certain speed, it's okay to have faster memory in them? If that's the case, I definitely will go future proof on that.
So is the G.SKILL Sniper Series DDR3 1866 good then, or is there something perhaps better?

Yes it's okay to have faster memory in them. They will run at the speed that the CPU allows only, of course ( meaning the 1866mhz kit will run at 1333mhz in your setup, but boosts to 1866mz if you put in a FX instead ). This G.Skill Sniper kit is OK for its price, matches your motherboard quite well and it doesn't have enormous height like RipjawX kits or some Corsair kits, therefor greater the list of CPU coolers you could use with your setup.

Great. Yeah I have a Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo currently. Much larger than the stock heatsink. I had not considered room space with other memory's fins. Thanks.

With these FX cpu's memory speed is effected by the number of sticks. You might get up to 1866 with one or two sticks, but with three or four you're lucky to get 1600.

With 4X4 of Corsair 1866 my 990fxaud3/8350 defaults to 1366. OC'ing to 1600 or higher it well not POST. Did the same with a 4170 and a 6100.
