Question Need Memory Recommendation

I have a Ryzen 5 5600X in this Asrock B550M Pro4 motherboard. I will be gaming at 1440p with a RTX 2070 (for now). As you can tell from the motherboard, I am not an overclocker.
I would like to install 32GB DDR4 memory (2x16GB) that would be the fastest that is practical for the board and the 5600x. Btw, I don't need LEDs (closed case). I have no idea what most folks use... 3200? 3600?, or something way faster? Latency...18? 16? tighter? I'm not very knowledgeable about RAM, I'm afraid.
So, a recommendation please. Thank you.
 
3600 cl16 is somewhat readily available, prices have been going up. Cl14 is also possible, but then you are paying above DDR5 prices.

CL16 3200 is the best price to performance ratio, usually between $50 and $60 for 32GB. $65 if you want a more well known brand like G.Skill or Corsair.

3600 CL18 is also usually reasonably priced, but the latency of 3200 cl16 is better.

Excellent. Thank you for that. Very helpful. Am I to assume then that 3600 cl16 is the optimum for the money for that CPU/board combination? Nothing faster worth buying?
And would it make any difference if the 32GB was 2x16GB or 4x8GB?
 
2x16GB is less stressful on the memory controller. More sticks makes faster speeds more difficult as you need more power to the memory. They also don't really sell quad kits for consumer boards, so luck of the draw if even two sets will work well together.

3600 is about the max without serious tweaking. The infinity fabric between the CPUs will run at this speed (1800Mhz) and 1900 is sometimes doable, but 2000 rarely is. When you go above a certain speed the fabric clock will drop in half.

If I may, I was also wondering what gfx card I should look into next to get at least 75fps framerates at 1440p Ultra. My RTX 2070 8GB is starting to show its age somewhat. While gpu prices are down from the stratosphere quite a bit, they are still quite high. The RX 6800 XT seems like it would do what I want, but that doesn't seam like enough of a tier jump to warrant the purchase. Your thoughts?

Additional 125W of power draw. Does get you 16GB of VRAM and a good jump in performance over a 2070. If your power supply is up to it, it is a good choice.

Alternative would be the more expensive RTX 4070 which uses about the same power as your 2070. Only has 12GB VRAM, but is a newer architecture. If you want to consider ray-tracing at all, probably the way to go.
