Right now I have a Soyo Dragon Ultra (SiS 645) that sucks for what I thought it would be able to do. Ive only been able to OC a 2.4 to 2.5. Very frustrating. So anyway, Im gonna sell this board to a buddy and slap in a new board that will give me better results.

I already have the 2.4 400mhz CPU, and DDR 2700 ram. Ive also already configured my system with the onboard RAID controller (high point).

I need a mobo that can overclock nicely with the other components I already have. Also, if this board does not come with RAID I assume I can get an additional high point board and be ok with my hard drives. If the board does come with RAID and say its a promise controller, will I have issues with my HD's?

Thanks,

It may not be your board at all. It could be one of the other components that you insist on installing.

Overclocking is dependant on every component in your system. Not just the processor or memory or motherboard, but everything. It could be your sound card or your network card or your modem or any other device you have installed in the computer that is limiting your overclock.

Are you using good, quality, name brand memory or generic. And micron does not count as name brand, it is generic. Crucial is name brand micron memory. Just because it has micron on the chips does not mean it is good.

Before you buy a new motherboard. Remove all of your peripherals or devices. Except memory, video card and processor. Now try overclocking. If you get a lot father than before, then it is not your motherboard, but one of the devices you removed.

I aint signing nothing!!!
