So I'm building a new pc. I have around 1000 dollars to spend and I cannot really find a good cheap MOBO for my setup because I do not know too much about them. Can you guys give me some suggestions on what to get? I will have an i5 4690k and an msi gtx 970 and I might use sli someday. I wanna get a quality board but I'm not sure what is good in my price range. I can spend around 120 dollars on the board.

I would suggest this:

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

Motherboard: ASRock Fatal1ty Z97X Killer ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($121.98 @ Newegg) [Great deal! IMO]
Total: $121.98
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

I would say Asus makes the best motherboards out there. Asus Z97-AR is $150 while the Z97-A is around $140 and less depending on where you shop. Both are high-quality while being the lowest-end Asus SLI-ready boards and have great feature sets. If you don't think you'll really be going with an SLI setup any time, the Z97-K or Z97-E are decent at around $120. The Z97-M is a good one if you don't need SLI and want to build a smaller sized machine.

You really pay for the possibility of SLI, so if you can be realistic up-front and spend a little more on a single GPU setup (e.g. one with a GTX 970), you can get a great motherboard at a lower cost.

- A great gaming motherboard that fits within your budget.
- Supports both SLI & Crossfire.
