Hi, I've been having a problem with my PC.Well the other day i was gaming as usual and all of a sudden the game crashed and the ram became corrupt or broken but basically what happened was two sticks of 2gb ram just blew up....This is a huge problem because i now only have 2gb left and I need someone's help with getting information on price and websites because it is an old PC and needs specific ram, I have looked and it seems I have only found one website asking for £20 per 2gb stick without even being 100% sure its the right type
Thanks anyway and hopefully i can get help soon :/
Specs will be given if needed and the processor is an IX38 QUADGT

We can't break it down any more than we already have: you need DDR2 1066
Here's a link
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=100007611%20600006042&IsNodeId=1&bop=And&SrchInDesc=1066&Page=1&PageSize=30
Or use google/amazon/search engine of your choice. Buy the size you want.
You should be concerned for what caused your memory to fail. Memory can simply fail due to age, but based on your description there could be something else going on as well.
That motherboard supports DDR2 1066 which is also known as PC2 8500. Pretty much any memory that has that speed rating should work. DDR2 compatibility with this board seems to be pretty good judging from newegg reviews (few if any people complain that their ram didn't work) so don't worry about it. If you really want 100% certainty, than buy from a place that offers free returns. If it doesn't work then take it back.

You need DDR2 that is up to 1066 Mhz.
It is better to search for RAM that is the same as your other RAM. At least RAM that runs on the same frequency.

One way to determine on what frequecy your RAM runs is, if you find on the label of it one of the following:
PC2-5300 = 667Mhz
PC2-6400 = 800Mhz
PC2-8500 = 1066Mhz

Other way is to use the free version of the program Speccy.

Its risky to try to fix the problem yourself. It is better to find a technician to inspect the motherboard.

No, the computers about 6 years old now so I feel its lived to all ive expected..And I'll need someone to break it down because I dont know the details of a computer but i know parts so im sorry i dont know ddr or ghz.So if someone has the time to break it down id appreciate it.
Thanks!
