Need new camera for GF...help me stop the nagging!

Hey guys,

So my girlfriend has been hinting at getting a new camera, and being the observant boyfriend that I am, understand these little hints as..."you should buy me a new camera."

Now I don't know a thing about cameras, nor does she. The last one she had was a lame Kodak easy share model, which was weak and broke fairly quickly.

I would like some guidance on choosing a decent camera at a decent price, something below $150. I was looking at Nikon / Cannon / Samsung Is there any models from these brands that would be a great reliable buy?

If you don't mid being branded a sexist get her the new Samsung PL 150 that has a screen on the front at well as the back -- perfect for those little self-portraits that girlie girls so adore.
