Hi, I'm a little new to PC building but did get a used one I'm using for animation. Over the last few weeks I had a lot of blue screen errors and I took it in. Apparently my RAM is either damaged or busted, basically I need new chips.
I had 16 GB before but am looking to upgrade to 32 or higher. Specs are below
Corsair 900d case
Asus rampage IV black edition
Radeon r9 290 GPUs 4 GB x2
1300w powers supply
Intel i7-4930k 3.4GHz
DDR3 RAm chips required

update the bios first, then test the ram using memtest86 on its own boot image to see if the memory and memory timings are ok. most bugchecks are not caused by actual ram defects they are caused because the data in the RAM is not what was expected. Only about 6% of the time is the ram defective (and even then it is often a bad bios setting)
