If you are going to spend $199 on a processor anyway you might as well add $19 and get the 3570K so you can overclock.

Also bumping the graphics up to an HD 7870 would not hurt although that 7850 is a great value with those 3 games included.

Here is an HD 7850 for $50 cheaper with the same games.

7870 with the same games for the same price.

It's mostly pretty good, the main thing is the cpu and cooler. Non-k Intel cpus don't like being overclocked at all, even a few percent can make the system unstable.

This means that the 3470 isn't overclockable either. If you think you might oc down the road, you'll want to upgrade to a 3570k (I see you said you might).
Alternately, if you don't care much for ocing you can drop the 212 evo from the list and run the stock cooler with the 3470, as ivy and sandy run sub 70c on stock cooling at full load.

Ok.. well i swaped a few things around..

New stuff
MB: GIGABYTE GA-H77-DS3H LGA 1155 Intel H77 - H77 vs Z77 due to not needing to OC or SLI
GPU: SAPPHIRE 100354OC-2L Radeon HD 7870 GHz Edition 2GB 256-bit - Went to 7870 from 7850 and from 1gb to 2gb
And dropped the CPU cooler as i'm not OC'ing stock should be antiquate

Price change is cheaper by about $10 making it $784.02

Hows it look now?

Gonna be ordering it tonight by the looks of it =)

Not to though a wrnch into things.. whats the view of AMD cpus and such? it it really worth the $100 to stick with Intel?

Looks fine. You will be able to overclock the CPU 400Mhz via the Turbo Boost function. You will not need aftermarket cooling for an OC that small. You can still do that with an H77 board as well.

The 7870 is a better choice especially at 1920 x 1080.

Looks good! Enjoy! :)

Intel will give you a much more future proof system for gaming. I usually upgrade graphics cards about twice for every CPU upgrade. The AMD FX series are just not good gaming CPUs in general. They do well in a few certain situations but overall Intel is a better choice.

You can compare benchmarks here.
