After combing the forums (and the Gigabyte motherboard guide, thank you), and not finding an answer, I was hoping to reach out and get some expert opinions. Last July, I purchased a Cyber...thing PC, and have enjoyed it for the most part. However, when I started exploring graphic upgrade options (yes, to play more insane BF4), I discovered some limitations with my Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd. Z87-HD3 (SOCKET 0) motherboard. One of the other threads referenced this, but this board does not support SLI (only Crossfire), and if you add another GPU, it will only run at 4x.
Please provide your advice/opinions for the following:
1. With regard to SLI, I do not know if this means it will not work at all, or just not be worth the expense of an additional card. If operable in SLI, I would purchase an additional NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 2GB (EVGA) graphics card ~ $250. Is the performance worth this expense?
2. If the performance of the first option is a no-go, I was going to take the advice of another post, and purchase the MSI Z87-G45, and the 760 mentioned above ~ $400.
3. Given the price of the second option, is it better to abandon the existing video card and just upgrade to something equivalent to motherboard + GPU, and if so, is the NVIDIA 770 GTX 4GB GPU a good upgrade for this $400 price tag (NewEgg)?
Thanks for your feedback.
