Hello there,

My cousin asked for advice from me for a system build. I told him clearly what he need and not need but still we are in doubt in some situation.

Our budget is about 650-700 USD. He will use his computer for gaming especially playing MMORPG games. He wants to run 2-3 client at the same time and currently he is playing ArcheAge.

For now, I made up two builds for him. One build is with Intel which forces us to get above our budget, one build is with AMD which is OK for us. But we can't decide it will meet my cousin's needs.

Intel Build

CPU: Intel i5 4460 3.2Ghz
GPU: Asus GTX 750 Ti STRIX
Memory: Corsair 8GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Motherboard: Asus H81M-C
PSU: Corsair 80 Plus 450W
Case: A local brand's case which has 6 fan slot. Approx. price is 50 USD.
HDD: Western Digital 1TB 7200RPM

Local Price: Approx. 725-750 USD.

Some of our friends said us we don't need an Intel i5 as Haswell, new Skylake i3 6100 will do the same job for us. But we are not sure about that because my cousin will run more application at the same time.

AMD Build

CPU: AMD FX-6300 3.5GHz
GPU: Asus GTX 750 Ti STRIX
Memory: Corsair 8GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Motherboard: Asus M5A97 LE R2.0
PSU: Corsair 80 Plus 450W
Case: A local brand's case which has 6 fan slot. Approx. price is 50 USD.
HDD: Western Digital 1TB 7200RPM

Local Price: Approx. 625-650 USD.

My cousin isn't have any overclocking experience and he won't do anything about that. He has only one expectiation and it is playing some MMORPG games with 2-3 clients, especially ArcheAge. He wants his main character should play the game with maximum graphical settings and the others with minimum.

I know I said too much things but accept my apologies, we need some expert opinions on our situtation. We can change parts etc. but we shouldn't get above our budget.

Sorry for writing errors because English not my main language.

Solution
CPU + MB + MEM - Look toward H170, Skylake and DDR4
GPU - Upgraded to the GTX 960 since you have the budget to handle it.
PSU - Not sure which one you are looking at, but unless it it the AX the RM lineup then stay away from Corsair. Look toward XFX, Seasonic, or the EVGA G2 lineup.

So basically AMD is only a different CPU and the Intel is a Intel CPU.... well i guess i would go with intel just because i prefer intel way more BUT it really depends they seem like good CPUs and almost the exact GHZ..... maybe try the AMD if you need to stay with that price range.

If you are willing to pay an extra 40 dollars, go with the AMD FX-8320. It is an 8 core processor clocked at 3.5 Ghz, over clockable to 4 Ghz+. I am able to max out any game with it, I have the EVGA GTX 750 not the TI. So theres a even better reason to get it. (The TI is better) Not many games use the 8 cores, but if you are looking to stream or record it is also good for that. It only scores .26 less than the Intel Core I7 3770k. You are getting a great deal with the 8320. I also have it. Your just paying for the name with Intel. I have never used Intel and I have never had a problem with AMD. I have used the Athlon 760k and 860k. Along with the FX 6300, I have now upgraded to the FX 8320. I would for sure go with AMD. But its your choice. Best of luck to you!

If you want to save some money order your parts online. It doesn't matter if you go Intel or AMD.

Use this: https://pcpartpicker.com/

To find the best deals on the parts you want.

The FX-6300 build will come out even cheaper if you buy online, and while Intel does better in single threadead performance you are also paying more for it. For well threaded games and applications FX will not dissapoint for the price.

If you want to open multiple clients on mmorpgs, you will like the FX-6300. It will do well in Archage, I play that game myself.

If you order online and has money to spare you could also go with the FX-8320 as suggested by the other user.
