Hello everyone. Sorry for the little wall of text, but I'd like to give an as clear as possible idea of all this.
Ok, so...as a lot of people out there (I hope), I kinda love most of the products coming from the electronic entertainment market. Most than anything I love spending most of my free time playing videogames, although most of the people around me think I'm actually wasting that time, and would very well like to make my main hobby become my main profession as well. As we all know, that's not an easy task, but that doesn't mean it's impossible.
With that said: "Digital Bros S.p.A" (Google translate returns "joint-stock company" for the "S.p.A" acronym), does anybody know them or has ever heard of them?
Supposedly, they're behind the Italian videogame distribution market, they own large parts of the Halifax and the 505 Games groups, and got the team behind "Murasaki Baby" (PSVita) as one of their main partners.
They've recently opened up a study course close enough to where I live (7000 € subscription fee, 1 year duration, 4 hrs per day and 3 days a week), touching C++ and 2D/3D model development through Unity, DirectX/Direct3D and a sprinkle of Android/iOS game development and ending with a certification, should I pass the final exam.
I've been employed for two years now as a junior software developer (high school diploma, Cisco java junior developer certification). I like what I'm working with, but it's not what I want to do for the rest of my life, and there's no best time to try out all your possibilities than when you're still young.
I'd like to attend the course, but I'm kinda set back by the cost and the fact I've never heard of this company, which supposedly dates its foundations back in 1990. I've already arranged things up with my current job superiors, as I'm an "employed freelancer" (idk the right definition; basicly I'm sticking with a single company, and the more hours I work, the more I get paid), and they're ok with it, should I decide to take part to this course.
What would you do, considering a choice could start propelling you towards your dreams?
