Okay so I'm gonna be a first time builder with a budget of $1500 and I just need helpful opinions on the parts I'm considering to get

Case: Fractal design define R4 $99.99

Power Supply: Corsair HX series HX750 $129.99

CPU: 3570K Intel Core i5 $224.99

Memory: G. Skill Ripjaws X series 16GB (2x8GB) $49.99

Graphics Card: Radeon R9 290 $499.99

Storage: Seagate Constellation 1T $94.99

Motherboard: Asus P8 Z77-VLGA 1155 Intel $119.99

Optical Drive: Lite on DVD Burner-Bulk Black Sata $14.99

Full Price: $1334.92

8gb of ram for a gaming rig is enough.Add in a aftermarket cpu cooler like the CM Evo and you'll be set.
Why's the HDD so expensive?The WD caviar blue is great for $60. And oh,do consider a SSD.It's not necessary,but it's a great addition.

Thanks man I appreciate it also should I boost the CPU up to an i7 instead of an i5 seeing as all the newer games are going to be taking advantage of the extra cores?

Ah,i can't answer your question with certainty.None of us can.For CURRENT games,the i7 has no discernible advantage over the i5.
For the upcoming games,i do not know. On the flipside,it's kind of ludicrous to think that an i7 won't handle a game at any point in the near future.
What i'm trying to say is, you seem to have the budget.If you're willing to,keep the i5 and bump up the gpu.That's where the gaming grunt comes from.Not the CPU.
