This is my intended cheap gaming/browsing build and i was wondering whether there were any better altenatives at a similar price(considering the cpu price is going to decrease when the bulldozer cpu's are released anyways) or if their is any incompatability issues with any parts in my build. the budget is at most £540, and it also has to be from uk sites as shipping costs would be too much for me.(many prices rounded up to nearest pound).

Check http://www.scan.co.uk for prices also

I suggest a BD compatible MB as an upgrade path later... basically same price
Asus M5A97 AMD 970 AM3+ Motherboard £73.16 Inc VAT

PSU suggestion the OEM is Seasonic it is plenty to power your system and will save you £10
XFX PRO550W P1-550S-XXB9 Power Supply (PSU) Core Edition £49.91 Inc VAT

The motherboard is a great addition.but would 550w psu still be good enough if i plan to overclock both my cpu and my graphic card (note i may get the xfx radion 6870 if the price decreases)?

Plenty of Power for over clocking and a bigger GPU.

A 6870 only draws 161W stock and about 215W OC'd a Newer 6970 will draw about 330'ish the rest of you system even OC'd won't draw more than 150-200W fully loaded.

the XFX has good +12V and +3.3V Rails
+3.3V@24A
+5V@24A
+12V@44A
-12V@0.5A
+5VSB@2.5A

the HD 6850 only runs at about 140W peak even CF they stay under 280W total at load. even another 200w for a supper OC'd quad core is still within the limits of the PSU. a 6870 pushes the envelope a little @ 320W load. if Crossfire is in your future for 6870's then go for the 650W you selected, if not then the 550w PSU will be fine for a single 6870 or 6850's in CF.

hmm ill have to have a think then and read a couple of reviews as both psu's sound very appealing to me now.
