Need PSU advice

Hi, I recently bought an AMD FX8350 and a GigaByte 990xa-UD3.

I was running an old 650w PSU which blew after playing a game for an hour. I put it down to the PSU being old. I then bought a 750w Alpine PSU, which again, blew after playing a game for an hour.

It killed two PSUs in two days!

I'm assuming it's a power problem, as I run the following;
AMD FX8350 ( Not OC )
GigaByte 990xa-UD3
CoolMaster Hyper 212 EVO ( CPU Heatsink )
1TB Sata HDD @7200RPM
2TB Sata HDD @7200RPM
120GB OCZ SSD
1GB Nvidia GTX 550 TI
Only 1 case fan ( Exhaust )

The system temperatures seem to be fine( When the PC was running ).

If someone could give me some info as to what sort of PSU I would need, it would be greatly appreciated!

Also, if you are going to provide links to products, I have roughly £100 to spend on it.

Thanks for any help.

Some bad luck man! I think you just used some unreliable brands.
I have an almost identical amd system and it runs nice and happy on a 600w psu, which is good if you dont plan to do heavy SLI or Crossfire. With your current build, anything psu between 500-600w will do fine and will give you a little headroom.

However, if you do plan to SLI two moderately powerful cards, i recommend a 750w, it also kinda futureproofs it too. I recently recommended a Corsair at $89 to another guy with an amd build and he alsoulutly loved it, and I can guarantee it'll have a lengthy service life

Ok, so I hope you all get to see my reply! And thanks for the replys.

I took the second PSU back and got my money back. They tested it at the shop.
They tild me that the GPU power cable had caused the damage in the PSU.

Which, in both cases of the PSU's blowing, it was while playing a game!

The motherboard I have has a few slots for PCI-e cards.

Could someone please tell me if I have the card in the correct slot.
Board: gigabyte 990xa-UD3
Card: 1GB Nvidia GTX 550 Ti

I'm currently using the 2.0 slot, closest to the CPU. I would post a picture, but I have to use my phone to post, lol.

Also, I took the advise and ordered a Corsair 600w PSU and just for good mesure, a decent case with great airflow.

Thanks!
