Well im back with a new question, got my PC complete now, but there's a problem. The 400Watts PSU from Nexus doesn't give enough power to overclock my memory speed properly.
Specs:
- AMD Athlon 64 FX-53
- MSI K8N Neo2
- Western Digital Raptor 36GB and 74GB
- OCZ 1024MB PC4400 EL Gold Dual Channel

I want to have my system 1:1, well you guys now how it works etc. Question now is, which PSU should i buy now? It needs to be powerfull (caus a Gainward Extreme is on the way aswell) and it needs to be as quiet as possible. Anyone an idea for me?

The Fortron Source or Sparkle Power 400W units would definately provide more power, but heck, you might as well grab one of their 530W units.

Crashman, going back to your post about the server and 300W redundant power supply. I have been thinking about the concept of a redundant power supply after reading that post, and I was just wondering how far off base I am in my thinking. If I were to power my system with say a 350W redundant PSU wouldnt that be an all around good fix. It would give me 700W's "not that I would really need it" plus it would give me an extra insurance policy in case one PSU failed. Is this even really cost effective?

Blah blah, I don't want to think about this, blah blah blah...

????? I'll try to redirect my lame questions elsewhere in the future. You could have just sent me a PM letting me know that I was becoming a headache. I'll give you an A+ on getting the point across. Something about these damn computers brings out the smart ass in people! Oh wait, there I go thinking again. Its not the computers, its stupid people like myself that bring out the smart ass in people.

LOL, relax, I was just bumping your post up the list for other people to see, you may still get your answer.

heya Deathclock;

I recommend one of the following PSU.

1) Antec True Power 480w
2) Fortron Source 530w
3) Thermaltake 480w

All of these are True wattage power supplies and will be more then enough power, and provide enough stability for your needs.

I have my eyes on the Antec NeoPower 480 which is nicely black (i like to keep things black, with blue light inside), but does it come standard with that ugly green light in it? Or can it be disabled (other than with a sledgehammer)?

Thanks for advice so far
