Need quick help

My case has two USB 2.0 cables (the thing that looks like it has 8 pins but it actually has one missing) but my Maximus IX hero only has one slot for them. I can connect one but not the other. Am I missing something? What do I do!

They each connect to a USB port.

If you leave one unplugged one USB port will not be functional.

What? I'm saying that there is only one 9 pin connector on the motherboard. It's next to ROG EXT. Can I use ROG EXT as well even though its 8 pin?

Motherboard has:
1 x USB 3.1 Gen 1 connector(s) support(s) additional 2 USB 3.1 Gen 1 port(s)
1 x USB 2.0 connector(s) support(s) additional 2 USB 2.0 port(s)
1 x USB 3.1 Gen 2 front panel connector

Maybe you need another case or a different motherboard to connect your USB 2.0 wire.
