Hi! Tomorrow I'm going to buy myself a new mobo, cpu and ram. I will get the Ryzen 1600 and the mobo is gonna be Gigabyte's AB350 Gaming 3 (if you have a better suggestion I'll be glad to hear about it). My question is about the RAM. I have several choices and I need your advice which one to get.

I figured that I prefer to get a 3000 mhz memory and then clock it to 3200. Which one do you think is best.

While the QVL isn't always a huge factor, for Ryzen and achieving >3000MHz speeds, I'd recommend you pick up RAM that's listed on the QVL at the speeds you want.

Ryzen's still going through BIOS revisions to validate higher speeds, so you're a little limited at this time.

QVL: http://www.gigabyte.us/Motherboard/GA-AB350-Gaming-3-rev-10#support-doc\

The only 16GB kits at 3000 or 3200MHz on the QVL are:

The others are 4x4GB or greater: this 8x8GB is validated.....apparently:

As I said, the QVL is not an exhaustive list - but would be my recommendation in this case.

As for BitWit, unless I missed it in either videos #1 or #2, I don't believe he mentions the RAM speeds achieved. Considering those videos are >3months old* at this point, I'd be very surprised if he was able to achieve the 3000MHz rated speeds....... it was (and still is in some cases) problematic to reach speeds >2666MHz.

*That being said, >3 months out from the video, there's likely been a bunch of BIOS updates to improve on speeds. I'm just saying the QVL for the greater speeds is a "guarantee" from Gigabyte.

Yeah you are absolutely right but I think I'm gonna get the Corsair memory and run it at the highest speeds I can. It will get betther with the future bios updates. I doubt that they won't add support for it in the near future.
