Just built my first pc with DDR4 2x8 16gb 3000hz ram. But I'm having issues please hear me out. So I first booted my bios and setup my xmp profile which should have set my ram to 3000hz and not the base of 2133hz. When I scrolled down to that section on msi I enabled it but than realized hmmm why does it say 3000hz but right under for the manual function it still says 2133hz? I ignored it than continued. Now when I booted back into bios a second time to change some boot priorities, something caught my eye. The ram frequency was still 2133hz. So then I went back to the xmp section and it still said under xmp "DDR4 2x8 16gb 3000hz 1.35v." But under it for manual it said 2133 still. So I kept the profile on but also just switched the manual to 3000hz too and kept the volt at 1.35 because that's what it says on the ram stick. However after I did this I noticed that games would crash and I'd get lots of blue screens. Low and behold I did a series of windows memory diagnostics test and memtestx86 and they both said stuff were wrong. However what confused me was that I did them again only this time I had the original xmp on and manual back to base 2133 and it worked flawlessly no errors. Now I'm wondering why this is and why xmp won't work and I'm getting blue screens for this? I'm using 2400hz right now because I'm the package it says DDR4 3000 but it says on the ram and on the box " PC4-2400" ....what is that ? This isn't 2400hz ram and it says 3000 right on it? I have xmp on and manual 2400hz with the 1.35v and that seems to be working fine no crashing or blue screens but I haven't done test with this setup yet. Any ideas? Some people say your processor can't handle it but I have an intel core i7 6700k at base clock of 4.0GHZ but that should be fine right? I don't know please help!

Is dual channel setup correctly? Did you do you motherboard chipset inf update? Also you may want to look into a BIOS update, for my board GA-170X-UD5 I had to update my BIOS to get proper XMP compatibility.

You should reset BIOS, update inf and make your rig stable on stock settings before OC'ing and enabling XMP.
