Hi Friends,

Its been a long time I got my PC built and seems technology has changed a lot. I was relying on laptops for last 4 years but now is the time to build one again.

Randomly as per the tech list, I came with this and need your suggestions for improvement. I would be using the PC for playing Games Sports, Racing, and a lot of virtual machines including Photoshop & Premier Pro. Budget around $2k-2.5k

Ryzen 7 3800X >> Didn't see good reviews
A motherboard for this supporting 128 GB RAM with inbuilt wifi and bluetooth >> Do we have any US manufacturer??
Corsair Vengeance RGB 64 GB, 2*32 GB Later would be upgraded to 128 with 2 more
1TB * 2 Samsung SSD
4TB * 2 WD Blue
6 GB DDR6 Graphics card or better >> which one you recommend
Creative 5.1 Sound card
A stylish and lightning Case >> Which one you recommend
An appropriate Corsair power supply to run above config. Future addition would be 2 more 4 TB and 64 GB more ram

Regards

Hi Friends,

I have done a bit of research and came down to following specs, do you have any recoomendation/correction

Ryzen 3600xt/3800x
Asus X570 E or F Gaming, Asus Rog Strix B 550/Gigabyte X570 Aorus Master/Ultra/Extreme/Pro
Nzxt H 510 Elite Case
Asus/Gigabyte - GTX/RTX 6 GB DDR6. Which one shall I go for game play and streaming, whatever is enough and less heavy on pocket . Do I also need a capture card for streaming? I am new to it
Vengeance RGB Pro 64 GB-32*2 3200 MHz to be upgraded to 128 GB with 2 more later
CPU cooler default is fine or any recommended one?
1 TB SSD Samsung/Kingston/WD/Crucial whichever is reliable and cheaper among these
4 TB WD Blue
DVD/CD Read-Write Combo Drive
Recommended PSU watt for above Corsair/Cooler Master /
Recommended AIO for above Corsair/CM/Antec/Nzxt

Hello,

The following should give excelent performance in games and the type of work you described.
Included are a very good 1440p ~ 144hz monitor, the 64GB of RAM, a Noctua cooler to keep the system quiet, a motherboard with integrated WiFi, and that will allow you to swap to the zen 3 AMD chips later on, and very good GPU (feel free to change this for the RTX 3070/3080 if you can find them at the MSRP).
Finally you have an 8 cores/16 threads CPU, 2TB of nvme storage, and a modular gold rated 850watts seasonic PSU.

There isn't really much of a diference in performance between the 3600, 3600X, 3600XT (close to 1% at the most), you do have a diference in core count and a bit more performance in game when going with the 3700, 3800X and 3800XT, then again there isn't much of a diference between those 3 either.

Thats why inside the same segment, between the the zen 2 chips (Ryzen 5 and Ryzen 7) you usually pick the one that has better price, unless theres a limited time offer on the higher ones that make them closer to the lower ones.

@RodroX

Yeah, I am thinking to go for 3800x as last I had FX 6100 with 6 so planning to get 8 cores now. But at the same time might wait for Zen 3, as @Hellfire13 suggested. But wondering again I need to do research for compatible boards (Heard X 570 would be fine as new release would be on AM4) and as per the performance not sure about the output for them.

Is that Ripjaw a RGB one or non-RGB?

@Hellfire13

It matches the conclusion, if I don't wait for 1 more month for Zen 3 as getting released on 8th Oct. I came to ask about the same Mobo, if someone is using or which one would be better for 3800x. I couldn't understand if this one would run 128 GB DDR4 fine, then why people would go for Rog Strix X570 E or Aorous Master.

I see both of you recommended the same which is second in the list if I don't go for the costly ones as first. Surely, saving some money here.

The RTX 3080 is going out of budget as of now, as Primary purpse is for VMs and learning Video Editing. Then in free time some games till I learn streaming. So looking for something around $300-350 in GPU.

Also planning to get PS5 and if I can stream from it then for sure will buy. Still need to do some research on that, once I finalize the RIG (Almost done).

@dimtodim recommendation was suggested by one friend so if I can play games (atleast most of them then fine for me)

I already have a Dell Insipiron running with 32GB of Ram. Now need more storage (1TB SSD & 4TB WD is final, already have 2*2TB WD) and powerful RIG to do rest of bits. It will start from 64 and for sure will go 128 GB before end of next year. I won't do any Overclocking and just be running as it is out of the box.

Please guys also let me know how to decide on a better AIO & Case for proper air pass? Any recommendations in Cooler Master, Corsair or Antec? As of now I have finalized Nzxt 510 Elite. Already have a Corsair 550 VX PSU, but as per the final calculation might get a 750 or 850 W PSU.

Zen 3 should be compatible with any B550 or X570 boards. The main diference (not the only one) between those chipsets is that you only get 1 m.2 pcie 4.0 slot.

There are good, really good and really crappy (VRM wise) motherboards, that along with the USB ports, and the options like WiFi andthe type of ethernet port included are the main diference between the motherboard price segments.

Asus TUF is a good board with positive feedbacks, adequate features and sufficient VRMs. The Strix and Master have better VRM ofcourse, but since you are not OCing, you wont need them...
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1d9_E3h8bLp-TXr-0zTJFqqVxdCR9daIVNyMatydkpFA/htmlview#gid=639584818

Again since you are not pushing extreme clocks, the Scythe cooler is more than sufficient even if you OC a bit.

Do not use that Corsair 550w, it might not be adequate.

Hi All,

This is the final list as of now. Any correction/improvement you would like to suggest: something that is not worth buying and the job can be done at a lesser price? It will help me in saving $$ and buying a Gaming Monitor after 6 months :)

CPU>> Ryzen 3800X

Case->> NZXT H 510 Elite RGB Black

Mobo>> Gigabyte X570 Aorus Ultra

GPU>> Gigabyte Graphics Card NVIDIA RTX 2060 SUPER WINDFORCE 8GB >> No budget for 3000 series as of now anything less is recommended then can go for that

PSU>> Antec SMPS Antec HCG 850 XTREME 80 Plus Gold Fully Modular

SSD >> Crucial SSD P1 1TB PCI NVME

HDD>> WD 4 TB WD BLUE

RAM>> Gskill 64GB (32x2) DDR4 RIPJAWS 3200 MHZ >> Unable to find 3600 Mhz as of now, though wanted an RGB RAM

AIO>> Deepcool Cooler CASTLE 360EX Black

Thanks all for your suggestions. Helped a lot in reaching here

Regards
