Need recommendations on a laptop trade

I have a 2016 dell XPS 13 i7 256 gb 4k 9360 that I use for university that I am quite happy with. I posted an ad online asking for a trade with any 2-in-1 laptops so I could write handwritten notes on my laptop in my lectures. I got a response back by someone willing to trade their 2017 XPS 13 i5 256 gb non-4k 2-in-1 9365. Their laptop comes with warranty while mine does not. They are asking for an additional 100 dollars in the trade, but I believe I may be able to negotiate that down. Is the trade worth it? Some extra information: I use the laptop for regular university use, ie writing reports in word, Netflix, webbrowsing etc. The most demanding task I do is work in autoCAD. Would the downgrade in the processor affect me significantly?

I would keep what you currently have, UNLESS having the handwritten notes is becoming more of a requirement rather than a luxury. If having the handwritten notes is enough for you to switch to an ultimately inferior system, then there's no reason to say that you shouldn't.

For nearly all purposes, your current laptop is better, with the only instance it's not being in hand-written notes. In which case I think it would be better to spend $5 to buy a notebook and a pencil. But that's just me.
