Hello all,
I am hopelessly lost and do not know where else to ask this. We have an old Gigabyte GS-SW005 mini-switch at work connecting a microscope to the PC to take and save pictures of cell. It is extremely old and the pictures take forever to load on the PC and were told to simply buy a new one. Problem is, they don't make them anymore. Any ideas on replacements? No one is a major tech wizard at work so we won't make use of any advanced options and stuff, simple and efficient is what we are looking for.

Thank you all

PS; we only need a few ports so a 4-port design is fine.

PS2: I am currently looking at either
TP Link TL-SG1005D
TP-LINK TL-SF1005D
NETGEAR GS205-100UKS

let me know if any of these options are good.

I'm not convinced that the switch is in fact the problem. But given they're like $25, for sure, buy a new one and see. At least if it's still slow you know to look somewhere else.

For your kind of use, a switch is a switch basically. Unmanaged switches, you just plug them in and that's it. Here's an example for $25: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA1K64815369&cm_re=4_port_switch-_-33-127-421-_-Product
Though any unmanaged switch would do the job. You may as well get a gigabit switch though (not that I think it will make any difference).
