Hi guys, I am about to build a machine with intention to aid me in software/web development task. I am not that into gaming, but surely love to be able playing hi-end game occasionally. Well not that important, but you know, previously I am a loyal mac user, but the latest MacMini and iMac totally driven me out of Apple ecosystem (all that soldered ram! Insanity at its best!).

Anyway, this is my setup (most of these are actually suggested by the local IT store in which I am about to build the machine). Would love to have your opinion on them. Ah also, one of deciding factor is: it should be able to install Hackinthosh later (if needed. Cause sometimes I got OSX job). So, I accepted the decision on the motherboard because I found a link in tonymacx86 that a user success in installing hackintosh on it.

So here goes:
- Core i7 4790: this is the most hi-end processor available
- Gigabyte H97-HD3: shall I replace this? Not sure if it's MSI/Asus/GigaByte. I just check that it's successfully installed with Hackinthosh. The review also positive. But I just read somewhere here, that I should not get H97, and instead another type (ugh, forgot what it is anyway).
- SSD 240GB TOSHIBA OCZ TR150 Not sure about this..
- RAM 8GB x 2 Kingston
- Dazumba D-Vito 696: is this casing already quite? One think that I will miss from my mac machine is how quite it is. Actually, MacMini is my preferred choice: but, hell no, now there are no i7 option in MacMini (and RAM also soldered!). Yeah, well, I think I will move the PC outside to another room (I can't stand hearing the humming and buzzing)
- External Thinkpad USB Keyboard : I am a Thinkpad lover now! And this external keyboard (although still wired), will give me the thrill!

Also, this machine will be attached into 4K TV Sony Bravia 49" X8000C. With these setup, I have maxed out my $1.7k budget. This Bravia is a must :)

So, what do you think guys?

PS: this is really amazing: with that bucks, I will only get an Apple iMac 21" Non Retina 8GB, 1TB HDD(!) 5400 RPM. Freeing myself from Apple, .. I can get superb system specs that the price totally unthinkable if it's built by Apple...

Solution
Going away from Mac is a great move.

I would try to go to an Bravia x85c to get HDR / wide colour gamut on your screen. I would also suggest atleast a 900 series nvidia gpu do that can utilise HDMI 2.0.
If you get an aftermarket CPU fan like something from noctua the system will be much quieter. Personally I would get a cheaper case and put my money into the parts.

Thank you so much!
Today I spent times reading what is all about HDR and I will look into it (I hope I can squeeze the bucks further).
But for the Nvidia GPU, I don't think it'll be in this first build. I am not that into gaming, and let see how far the base system go.
Having searching about Noctua, yes! I will take that.

Better yet, having read this guy developing his first hackintosh for 4K, I think I found what I am looking for: a silent PC.
Will also bought Fractal Design Define R5 for the casing

Thanks!

PS: I found another IT store that already sell Skylake! So I am configuring a Skylake system now.
Will start a new thread, but yes, I pick this as solution.

Thanks!
