I have a DSL modem with built in wifi. I would like to use my Linksys E4200 with DD-WRT firmware instead. The software for the DSL modem is garbage compared to that of any other GUI on a stand alone wifi router. Is it possible to disable all the wifi functions in the modem (DHCP, firewall, port forwarding), and pass those functions on to my Lynksis? Or can you suggest DSL modem that is compatible with Centurylink that does not have built in wifi? Thanks!

u can pass DSL modem functions to other router by making static ip first u can disable firewall and port forwarding easily but that is must that static ip should be in NAT -- Virtual Servers Setup, Port Triggering and DMZ Host of DSL modem which will forward all functions to router
