Hi,
R9 270X "Toxic" OC 2GB
A8-660k @ 4.4

Lately I've been playing games like Dota 2 and Skyrim and Dragon age Inquisition and many others, and maybe it's just me but I feel like my cpu is holding me back. The reason I say this is because I get a lot of fluctuation in the framerate deparment of things, especially with DAI. Now I have a budget of about 350 canadian dollars and I was looking at the m5a99X EVO R2.0
to go with the FX-8320 and putting it to 4.2 to 4.4 with an aftermarket cooler. Do you think that this upgrade would be wise, or is there something else you can suggest? Please speak your mind and I will listen.

Thank you very much!

I have thought about trying Intel, but unfortunately it's not in my budget at the moment.
Thanks for your reply

Would it be worth the 500 something bucks to upgrade from my A8-6600k to an I5-4690k and
MSI Z97M-G43 ? or do you think I should go for something else? Please, I'd like some advice.

$500+ is worth more to some folks than to others. Hard to put an definitive answer to that. But if you are spending enough money to invest in a new AM3+ board and FX-8320, you might as well spend a little more and get a platform that has more potential. You're going to have to do a clean install of the OS and all your pgms anyway. Might as well only have to do it once.

I went from a FX-8350 @ 4.6 GHz to the Intel rig in my sig below. The difference was very noticeable. Same card, too.

I've decided to go with Intel for the first time ever, and I was wondering if you guys have any tips on how to make sure that the motherboard and processor are working properly when I get them?
