Hello,

Can someone please give me some advice as to the Asus P6T vs the P6T Delux v2? As theres a nice price difference I was wondering what you guys think. The main thing I like the v2 for is it has 2 lans. Also, Asus tech support told me the v2 came out cuz of problems with some hardware.

P.S. While were at it does anyone prefer any other P6T version other then the mods mentioned above?
The one I know I dont want is the palm version and the rampage is too expensive. Planning to go with I7 920 and tr channel 1600mhz mem.

Thanks,
Sebastian

yeah, thats why u got 2 lans (since its still a delux). I dought a plain p6t has 2 lans. I called asus tech support and they told me the V2 delux is almost the same (cant remember what they said exactly but it had something to do with some kind of tech or software bug/incompatability with 2 progs or something like that, nothing big).
Its just that other then the 2 lans is there a major difference between the plain p6t and the delux v2?

Thanks,
Sebastian

I have a P6T Deluxe (v1) too...I've not had any problems with it, its holding my 920 @ 3.6 nicely as well. If you don't really have to have that extra ethernet port just get the vanilla P6T.

Does any one here have any expereince with sas(Serial Attached SCSI) hard drives?
Are they worth the money? I saw some on newegg for example Fujitsu MBA3300RC 300GB 15000 RPM 16MB Cache Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) Hard Drive - OEM $339.99 and HITACHI Ultrastar 15K300 HUS153030VLS300 (0B22132) 300GB 15000 RPM 16MB Cache Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) Hard Drive - Retail $319.99 Though Ive read of the last one not having it seen by the Asus P6T6 mother board. I was thinking of getting the P6T delux specifically for the native SAS controller. To me it does not sound like a bad deal particularly when the Western Digital VelociRaptor WD3000HLFS 300GB 10000 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - OEM is $229.99. Was wondering what you guys think on the topic.

$300

The new OCZ Vertex SSD drives are probably the best bang for $$$ as far as performance goes. Grab anything for storage.

Hello Everyone,

I am new to this forum and need some advice.

I took a look at the $2500 system that Tom's Hardware built using the EVGA MB and an i7 920 CPU. I would like to build a very similar system using the ASUS P6T Deluxe MB with 6 or 12 Gigs of ram. I'm not sure if I should go with a single nVidia 285 GPU or 2x nVidia 260 cards.

Has anyone used the ASUS P6T MB with the Cooler Master 830 Evolution Case? If so, how well did everything fit?

I would also like to know what OC settings you used. Would it be better to go all out for liquid cooling or will air cooling be sufficient?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Big Bruce

HI got a Segate 15K drive 36gb on ebay for 40 bucks... put two of these in raid and they will smoke my 75gb 10K raptors..... you do not need to spend $300 unless you need a larger HD.... In that case get a seperate drive for storage and use the sas drive for the operating system.....

I actaully use the SAS drive for my games and use a vertex SSD for my operating system.... it blows any hardrive out there in raid to shame.....
