Hi all, a friend of mine pointed me to these forums for advice :)

About 6 weeks ago my RAM was sent back to the shop on warrenty and I've been waiting for new stuff since then... been running on 2g Corsair Value since

Soooo today I get an email...

This is the stuf I brought and was sent back for warrenty -

DDR2 twinx XMS2-6400 2gb 2x128Mx64240 5-5-5-12 64M

The shop are offering me a "8500 Version of the kit" <-- exactly as they wrote it. Is this the same as the stuff I originally brought, or better/worse?

Many thanks for any help

If it's XMS2-8500, it's likely better. Next time, you may want to deal with Corsair directly for warranty replacement -- they should give much better turnaround times.

The new stuff is better, though if you are not overclocking it won't make any difference.

Chalk this up as a learning experience. See poster above, next time go straight to Corsair. They even have someone here on the boards, XMSYellowbeard I believe.

Edit: WOW, 200 posts in what............ 9 months. A new record for underachievement.
