Hey everyone, I'm building my own pc for gaming on crisis 3, metro last light, Minecraft, Dota 2, and BF4 mainly. I would like it to be pretty quiet, but not being dead silent ain't a problem. Please help.

I have a $500 pc build that currently runs Battlefield 4 on medium, prices are much better now, allowing for a much better build than I have, but I currently have a:

EVGA GeForce GTX 650
Athlon II X4 630
6GB DDR3-1600 G.SKILL Ripjaws
ECS A960M-M3 Motherboard

Now, you can get something along the lines of an Athlon X4 760K and an R7 260X which will run Battlefield 4 much better than me, but you won't get 60FPS on high, maybe 30-40.

I'm actually getting this all from newegg, just had it on pcpartpicker so I could share it. Also (I feel like an idiot now) what is overlclocking and how is it achieved. I picked the h80i for silence, so please explain overclocking.

Oh.......I see.

overclocking is making a part of your computer run faster than its stock spped. so, take a cpu at 3.4 ghz. this would mean that it has a multiplier of 17, cuz the fsb of 200x17=3400mhz. the most common way to overclock is to rais the multiplier, so lets take that 3.4ghz cpu and rais the multiplier to 20. then the speed would be 200x20=4000 mhz, giving you a core speed of 4.0ghz instead of 3.4 ghz. however, overclocking will require more power, and produce more heat, so a good cooler is needed.

So will that help me in these games? Is it needed? And how do I raise the multiplier?

well, if you do get that liquid cooler, or a good air cooler, you can overclock. however, you dont really need too. you can try it to see if it will raise your fps, but i doubt it cuz it is already fast enough for most games. you overclock it in the bios, and i forgot to mention that when you rais the multiplier, you usually have to raise the voltage aswell, but i would recommend you dont touch the voltage yet, and when you do, only by a little, like raise it by 0.025 for every 1 you raise your multiplier. or, better yet, google how to overclock the i5 4670k and follow others instructions. however, it is likely you will make the system go unstable from going too high and windows wont boot. all you have to do then is lower everything back down a bit. worse case scenario, you raise it so much your computer wont even load the bios, and you will have to open your case and reset the cmos (look in mobo manual for that). i suggest you not overclock unless it significantly increases your performance, and if you do do it with caution.

Ok then. Another question, would my pc be quiet, because I've heard that the r9 290x can sound like a jet engine on steroids.
