Hi, i've been shopping around for a good long while now. I would HIGHLY recommend you looking into the Abit KT7a or KT7a-RAID. They are just recently showing up on shelves (i mean, like only yesterday!) and in my opinion is the BEST thing to get at this point and time. It utilizes the updated version of the "KT133" chipset called "KT133A" which officially runs at 133mhz FSB instead of the old 100mhz FSB. One important note is that this is an SDRAM chipset and does not support the new DDR SDRAM. At first i was a little concerned that i'd be buying a technology that is already obsolete... but in almost every benchmark i've seen so far, the new KT133A chipset almost meets and sometimes even beats DDR (this is due to the KT133A supporting a 133mhz FSB, correct me if i'm wrong). I was also pleased to hear (don't hate me DDR fans, heh) that Tom announced the arrival of a newer RAM technology called "Quad DDR" or something like that which should be seen towards the end of this year or beginning of the next i think. Bottom line, after so many months of putting off getting a system by waiting for the newest thing... it all comes down to buying the best thing AVAILABLE at the moment. And from my perspective, the best thing I can get for the best price is the KT7a-RAID hands down, majorily to the fact that DDR SDRAM is priced pretty high and SDRAM is at an all time low. My plan is to get this killer system and kick ass until, at the absolute earliest, Quad DDR is out... but I'm almost positive that i'll be happy with this board for a LONG LONG LONG time...
Gawd DAMN! I sould be a spokesman for Abit!
