Need some help on upgrading my old computer system

It has been awhile since I upgraded my computer. With life being so busy, I regret to say that I had fallen behind on being computer savvy 🙁

My main goal is to upgrade my old computer so I can play high end games like Fallout 4 with the new HD texture patch that just came out.

In all honesty I personally would say it's going to be a major overhaul of most of the components in your system and ideally a new case if it was up to me.
Are aesthetics a problem at all to you or are you just wanting enough juice under the hood to play these games to the best of their ability?

If I can get a computer that is stronger than my old one for 1k that would be awesome

This should be a great improvement over your current system and comes under your 1 grand. If you want to spend more or make any changes us know.

You can reuse your old PSU and 1TB HDD and maybe a couple of your 120mm fans but the rest of your system will become obsolete.

Only issue that on the system recommendations for the HD texture pack for fallout is GTX1080 graphics card rather than GTX1070
