Need some help with 24 pin cable

i bought the alchemy 2.0 csr series cables to install in my pc, in the box there is 2 different 24pin ATX cables (one has RMX/RMI stick on)

i have a msi z97 gaming 7 mo bo, coursair ax860 power supply.

I cant seem to get either cable to work, only the one with RMI sticker on fits but pc wont power on, if i place old cable back in it all works. Can anyone advise me what cable i would need?

Well the RMi and RMx are models of corsair psu's. Are you sure those cables are even compatible with the corsair AX power supplies?

So you have a coursair ax860 and you bought RMX/RMI alchemy 2.0 csr series cables?

You need to by cables that match your PSU. So if its RMX/RMI or CSR or whatever they won't work. Needs to be AX compatible because the pins are generally arraigned differently. The AX is a sesonic psu re-branded.

Well I found this webpage those are your cables right? It says compatible with with the AX860i but does not say the AX860 they are different, not sure if the cables are but I feel like they would have listed the AX860 if it was compatible.

ax860i my psu says ax860, and i called overclockers to check if the "i" made a diff they said was just a power rating or something.....
so will this not work? need to get ax860 not ax860i

Like said above the AX860 was made by seasonic, the AX860i was made by CWT. They are different psu's not even made by the same company, I would assume those cables aren't compatible sorry to say.

If your in North America Corsair sells them (they might sell them elsewhere not sure) though they are not particularly cheap and you have to buy the 24pin separate for whatever reason. I will look around and see if I can find anything else.

I looked through all the corsair cable kits on that site they did not seem to have them. I found some on amazon UK through some third party sellers, you may want to have a look at them.
