Hi everyone,

I have never ever had any issues with BSOD until last night. Randomly while I was playing LoL i got this blue screen, and I didn't have any more issues with it the rest of the night. However, today I have just been getting BSOD constantly, and with no rhyme or reason for it.

I have looked up different things to do for this (updating drivers, deleting antivirus, etc) and can't seem to figure out what the issue is. What makes this even more difficult is that this happens at very random points (playing games, browsing the web, or even just sitting at the desktop), and every single time it happens there is a different error code.

If anyone could help me out with this before I just reset windows entirely that would be great.

Here's my specs if that helps at all

OS: Windows 10 Home
MOBO: Gigabyte Z390
CPU: i7 7900k
GPU: RTX 2070 super
Memory: G skill Ripjaws 8x2
HDD: WD Blue 1tb
SSD: 1x Sandisk 128gb , 1x Sandisk 1tb
Monitor: Sceptre 27 in curved 144hz

Solution
I sometimes want to see errors I have never seen before, just for a break in routine, but I starting to wish I wouldn't.

Not seen IRQL GT Zero at system service before

this is too easy, 2nd error blames Directx. You have latest nvidia drivers... you might think thats a good thing, I find they are not worth updating unless you really need the changes.

dxgmms2!VIDMM_DEVICE::CreatePagingQueue+0x45 -
I am not a coder but that looks like an instruction for the video card

BSOD 2 & 3 both crashed DWM.exe. That is the windows desktop manager, another clue its the GPU drivers.

Run ddu and either install 0lder drivers from Nvidia, the card maker itself or run windows update and get windows to find drivers -...

Can you follow option one on the following link - here - and then do this step below: Small memory dumps - Have Windows Create a Small Memory Dump (Minidump) on BSOD - that creates a file in c windows/minidump after the next BSOD

copy that file to documents

upload the copy from documents to a file sharing web site, and share the link in your thread so we can help fix the problem

BIOS info was not included in the dump file. This can sometimes mean an outdated BIOS is being used.

This information can be used by others to help you. I can't help you with this. Someone else will post with more information. Please wait for additional answers. Good luck.

not sure about the last error, Volume Shadow Copy crashed.

Which gigabyte Z390? https://www.gigabyte.com/au/Motherboard/Intel-Z390 - they have a few :)

Do you have latest BIOS? latest version of Intel Serial I/O driver?

Update on this case:

Was doing some different tests to try and figure this problem out, and solved it!

Swapped over to an HDMI cable, from a DisplayPort cable, and have yet to get another BSOD.

Culprit: faulty DP cable. Very very odd, and I have yet to see another person with this same issue, so I hope this thread helps someone with this issue.

2nd update:

not even two minutes after writing this post I got another BSOD. Still unsolved...

please share any new dumps you get, they will help.

Did you run ddu & install different drivers?

I've ran the ddu and installed the new drivers and have yet to have another BSOD.

However, the blue screens became much less often after I swapped from the DP cable to HDMI, which may suggest that it did have something to do with the drivers.
I suppose only time will tell if the new drivers did fix the issue.

Thank you so much with your help. I'll be sure to upload more dump files if I get another BSOD.
