What is better for performance (photoshop minor video editing etc..)

Core 2 extreme 3.06ghz or 2nd gen I7 2.2 to 2.4 ghz

will I see any difference? what is the difference performance wise?

Which specific models of CPU are you looking at? For example, the Core 2 Extreme mobile range consists of the X9100 and QX9300.
