Need some help with upgrading my pc!

I'm not a computer minded person but Its been a long time since I've upgraded my rig and i would like some help with what to get.

These are my specs:

Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4670 CPU @ 3.40GHz

Video Card NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660

RAM 8.0 GB

That,s all i really know but if you can guide me in any direction ill be very thankful. xx

Do you have a budget in mind, and do you also have any details on what PSU you have, and if possible, could you give me tthe wattage and exact PSU model?

The actual upgrade will bring close to nothing in performance increase.

It's more or less a jump to the side and a lot of money down the drain for nothing.

The 4670 was brought out half way through 2013, and although it is 3 years old, the performance increase from that to such as the 7600, 7500 or whatever else there is, will be 10-20%~ increase, which isn't enough to be worth an upgrade.

As I said above, the best would be a GPU upgrade, from a 660 to a GTX 1060 or something similar will fit nicely if the PSU is up to the standards, another 8GB of RAM might not hurt but the OP clearly isn't struggling with RAM, otherwise that issue may have been addressed.

I have no idea and i don't even know how to find out? I'm only just starting to take my PC seriously because i have more of a stable income so my budget is about £400 give or take.

I have no idea and i don't even know how to find out? I'm only just starting to take my PC seriously because i have more of a stable income so my budget is about £400 give or take.

If you have access to your PC, take the side of your tower panel off and look for the PSU, there should be a name, make and model on there.

Where did you buy this PC? Was it built by you directly or was it pre-built?

Not the best of PSUs, definitely wouldn't recommend for heavy gaming.

What sort of games do you play? That would assist in the choice of GPU upgrade for you. It has 2 6+2 Pin PCIe Connectors.

I would recommend upgrading to something more stable, but that isn't necessary and is only a small option for an upgrade/update.

I play pretty much everything. From Lol to Battlefield and a bit of Fifa, you name it and I've played it. But I've noticed that its been struggling with the latest titles.

The second option is completely optional, the RAM Upgrade could be ruled out and you could get a single stick of RAM that could cause compatibility issues, as they may not run together even if they're the same make/model, but I think you'd be fine on 8GB.

The PSU is also completely optional, as your PSU isn't overly 'Terrible' but most people wouldn't recommend it for gaming.

With an SSD you might also upgrade the R/W speed, if your mobo isn't the one you want to replace !
