I have 16gb of crucial ballistix sport 1333 cl9. I am upgrading to a z77 board that supports up to ddr3000 I was looking at some 2400 ripjaws but the board supports ddr1333 this is strictly for gaming and my question is should I use the 1333 or upgrade the ram because its 1333? I am a noob to ram so any help would be greatly appreciated.

You don't really need more than 1600mhz RAM. That's the general consensus anyway. Most people agree that beyond 1600mhz, the extra cost isn't worth the extremely marginal performance increase, as it's barely noticeable.
