Hello all, so I need some help and suggestions.I’m planning to build a new pc but I guess I will start it at the end of the summer or middle of autumn because of GPU prices…But before that I want to ask people opinions.Firstly what I have now:

  • I5-3470s with artic freezer 11 LP cooler
    MSI h61ma-e35 motherboard
    GTX 1050 2Gb VRAM
    8Gb(2x4) ddr3 1333Mhz RAM
1Tb WD Blue HDD + 250Gb Seagate HDD
    128Gb ADATA SU800 SSD
    CORSAIR CX450M PSU
So what my plans are:

  • Ryzen r5 1500x ( maybe 1600 but still not decided cause It will depend how much it cost when I will buy it , or maybe 1400 ? But I guess the 1500x would be the best choice, if I have spare money I definitely go with 1600 but it’s still not decided ) Also I read rumours about i5 with 6cores, is it true ? Maybe I should wait for them ?
    ASRock AB350M PRO4 Motherboard
    8Gb DDR4 RAM 3000-3200Mhz ( probably insert 8gb more later )
New case ( still searching for best option, but I guess it will be Deepcool D-SHIELD )
And I will use some parts from my current pc ( CX450M PSU which is quite new , 1tb hdd and 128gb ssd )
Now I have some questions:

I bought GTX 1050 2gb when It was released cause my old gpu died and I thought that it will be enough for me…I was wrong..( it’s still enough for games that I play but upcoming games probably will run only on low settings , btw I’m using 1080p monitor and I not planning to change it any time soon.)Now I’m thinking should I sell my GTX 1050 when I will build my new PC and buy RX570/580 ( mainly want RX580 ) when prices goes normal again or should I wait for new GTX series ( not sure if they were announced or no , or maybe new RX series ? btw I won’t look at RX Vega cause I guess the price will be much higher than my budget ( I can spend for GPU around RX 570/580/GTX 1060 3Gb normal prices ).

Second question would be , maybe my current PC is still good enough for lets say one year ? Or maybe I just need to wait for normal GPU prices and sell my GTX 1050 and buy RX 570 /580 ?

Last question would be if I sell my current PC how much can I get for:
i5-3470s with artic freezer 11 LP cooler
    MSI h61ma-e35 motherboard
    8Gb(2x4) ddr3 1333Mhz ram
250Gb HDD ( it’s quite old Seagate hdd but It’s still working good )
    No name case 😀
Technoware 420W psu ( it’s still working good , but it’s really unsafe psu so I guess it doesn’t worth anything 😀)

How much can I get for this in € with GTX 1050 and without it ( if I sell it without GPU ) ??

You should do a search on eBay for similar builds and choose the 'sold' filter to see what they have recently sold for. Sometimes you can get more by breaking the components apart and selling them individually.

Your GPU is good. I am running high end games on medium settings getting 30-50fps with a GTX660. I noticed you didn't list any cooling aside from your CPU. CPU coolers are great, and yes GPU's come with their own fans, but I would suggest getting some 120mm case fans to improve airflow through the case. You may see a performance increase even if they are set to low speed or quiet.

If you upgrade to a solid state drive RAID0, it will feel like a brand new machine. I know I know lots of people say it doesn't work and its probably not as much of a performance increase if your doing it on a sata3 mobo, but I do it and its definitely noticeably different especially if its running on a sata2 interface.

Are you running the OS and games off of the SSD?

You might also get more help if you edit the title of this thread to be "how much can I sell this old PC for"

You should also create multiple threads for the different questions. Some people will search for specific categories because they specialize in those categories.

I'm running my OS on SSD and one game also.Still 80gb free space and PC working fast enough for me :) , I have few case fans and my temps are normal :) , so maybe I can just sell my current PC withouth GPU ( leaving with intel hd ) and buy new build with ryzen using my old GPU (I mean GTX 1050 ) and maybe waiting till next GTX series I guess?

Sounds like a plan
