Need some insight on my current computer situation

Like my title says, I am hoping you more-educated folks can help me figure out exactly what is causing what I think is lower-than-should-be performance.

My video card is an EVGA GTX 780 Classified, not overclocked. I run three monitors, all at 1920x1080 and while playing some games, World of Warcraft as an example, I am having less than 60 FPS with maxed-out graphics in a majority of the game. Games are only played on the center monitor.

My setup is:

Mobo: Asus Sabertooth X58 LGA 1366
Video card: EVGA GTX 780 Classified @ stock speed
CPU: Core i7 950 @ stock speed
Memory: 12GB of DDR3 @ 1600
PSU: Corsair 850W
Monitors: I don't think the size matters, only resolution, but I am running 2x 27" monitors @ 1920x1080 and 1x 23.5" monitor running at 1920x1080.

Any knowledge is appreciated. I have been told that my CPU could be bottlenecking my GTX 780 but I did not know how much truth was in that statement. Thank you in advance for any replies.

I dont think that cpu will bottleneck your GPU, however, it might be affecting your performance as WoW (I Think) only utilizes 1 or 2 cores, and since that CPU has relatively poor performance per core (by poor i mean compared to a 4790k) along with it being completely online (lag effects framerates) is probably the reason.

By less then 60fps, how much do you mean by? I know the 780 is a great card, but in my opinion if you're shooting for such a high resolution you really should be looking at using 2 cards. I have no experience in WOW at all, so I cant speak for that game specifically, but just something to think about.

Ah I misread, I saw "run 3 monitors, all at 1920x1080p" and just assumed he was saying eyefinity. But yes, then I agree with you, the CPU would probably be the most likely issue if WOW is cpu dependent.

Ahh ok. As far as FPS goes, I will sit typically above 70-80 if I turn off V-Sync, but I will sometimes randomly fall low and then sit low(around 30-40) during graphic-intensive parts of the game when I think I should easily stay above 60 FPS? I could just be wrong and lag no matter what card I have but figured I would ask.
