[SOLVED] need some psu suggestions

my power supplies fan is really loud and im guessing it broke because it wasnt that loud before, anyway i think its gonne break soon so i wanne get some suggestions for other psu just incase. my current one is a corsair cx500 (99.9% sure) im using a ryzen 7 2700x and a gtx 1060 (probably gonne upgrade it soon) and im not sure what power supply i should get incase it breaks. around 100$ (AUS) or lower. only one ive found that seems to be good is https://www.scorptec.com.au/product...0btmFj1qqlxCzfDLQ59d1hk4CF7MDXD8aAnyXEALw_wcB but idk if its actually good

That PSU isn't very good.


It goes out of spec. And you don't have to cross load it to make that happen. The 5V rail on it is very bad.

Now is a horrible time to buy a PSU. Due to Covid there haven't been any/many shipments of parts and everything is either out of stock or super expensive. To be honest if you have a half way decent PSU with just a fan issue I'd see about replacing the fan. That involves opening the PSU so that's not something I suggest anyone attempt unless you really know what you are doing. Touch the wrong thing in there and you get an unhealthy zap of electricity. oh ok well i opened it then closed it and somehow it fixed it but if it does happen again i stole a fan from my dead psu so i can swap it if needed
