Need some words to calm me down. Graphics card.

Hello....

Not in a very good mood I'm crying inside. So I've been excited about building a PC for ages, I have saved up so much and I got all the parts ready and i will start building tomorrow. Now one thing happened. I opened my graphics card box, a sapphire r9 390X. And i just wanted to have a look at it because I got so excited when I saw it!
I touched the back....
Now I've been here literally crying inside wondering if it's dead. I've read some other posts and a lot of people say that there's a really really low chance of anything happening but i just wanted someone to tell me.

Is it dead? Is it alive?

More than likely it's ALIVE , they are more durable than that.

Calm down the card is ok. 😀

The more humidity in the air, the less chance of harming anything. If you picked it up by the slot cover first there's no chance of damaging it through static unless you were dragging your feet on a carpet while juggling it. I would bet you have nothing to worry about.

I can not remove or install a card without touching the back and I have removed and installed many. All survived!

Unless you have electric superpowers the card is fine. Touching the PCB doesn't damage it as long as you don't break anything and your hands aren't wet. I've handled more than a few components by the PCB and they live to this day.

As long as you didn't smear it with strange substances from unclean hands, there is almost zero chance you did it any harm.
