Need SSD Image Copy

I have a SanDisk Extreme SSD, 120MB, as my drive "C" dedicated to the OS and programs. I tried to use Acronis True Image to make an image backup to two different drives on my system. In both cases it failed and trashed the hard drives.

I need suggestion(s) for a good Flash Drive to rotating disk drive image backup -- of course, would prefer free software, but will pay if necessary.

Must not have windows 7, as windows 7 is what I use to crate an Image of My SSDs.
Control panel, system & Securtiy, Back.
Can try easeUS, which should work also for XP and Vista.

I'm confused. You said "Must not have windows 7 ...". Why?

Because if you had windows 7 you could simply go into control panel, select system & security, then backup and make an image of your SSD, includes both the system partition (that tiny 100 mb partition) and your "C" drive. (NOTE: that is what I do, then for safty, I copy it to my backup external HDD). When done it will prompt you to make a bootable restore DVD, which I skip as you can simply use your Windows installation disk, select repair, then restore using an image.

Nothing to Buy, no 3rd party program - all built into windows 7, Not availlble in previous edition - Hense my statement.

Have used on many occassion and it works.
Only problems is if Have problems with YOUR installation that prevents it from runing. BUT then these problems should be Fixed before hand anyways..

So then, does Win7 backup "everything" on the C drive? Would that include an Ubuntu subsector and the /users and /program files? And do you know how it handles the dual-boot mbr sector? I stopped messing with the win7 backup when I had problems, and then (now) I realize that it was that cheap SSD that was causing the problems. I went from XP to win7+SSD+OC+multiOS+ et cetera.

It sure would make it easier if it did.

And how do you test it? I tried to reinstall from external Acronis backup by disconnecting the SSD and using the Acronis backup emergency disk to reinstall the OS and -- viz., to reinstall the C:\everything + 100mb + mbr to a new WD 1tb. What a problem. . . I just erased everything and fixed things.

I am thinking of keeping a 250mb disk in the computer (SATA2 #6) with nothing on it, just in case I need to recover from a SSD failure. How do you test the Win7 backup?

Thanks, Retired Chief. As suggested, used the Windows 7 image backup for a backup of my SSD to a USB-connected hard drive and also the spare hard drive ("G") in my computer tower. Piece of cake. Made a Repair Disk just in case (still have the original MS Win 7 Pro distribution disk). I feel better about the whole configuration now. Again, thanks!
