Hi Guys... I have recently Build NAS Based on TrueNAS out of my Old PC components..
Specs-
Intel Core i3 6098P
2*4GB 2133Mhz Kingston Value DDR4 RAM
Gigabyte GA-H110M DS2
Msi GeForce GT 1030 2GB GDDR5
Coolermaster MWE 450v2 80+ bronze.
Storage drives
-16GB USB Flash drive for TrueNAS Core..
-240GB Crucial BX500 (current Storage Drive)...
My question is... Can I use any PCIe x1 to SATA controller for True NAS? Does that Controller and onboard SATA Ports work with Software RAID?
I am only using 1 SSD.. just for testing.. I was impressed by its performance and price I actually invested.. so I think I can do 8 drives (HDDs) in future for that NAS (just for Home)
Now my board have only 4 Sata Ports.. can I use PCIe x1 to 4xSATA card?? (Let's say very cheap Converter (not RAID card or HBA)
Am currently getting maxed out 118MBPS (nearly 989MbPS) over 1GbPS Onboard Ethernet controller... May be in future.. can I use 10GbPS card?? Without any issues..??
I am running my current set-up for like 2 months no issues... Just 240GB space..
