Need suggestions on upgrading the graphic card on my Dell Inspiron 580s

Hey Guys, I currently own a Dell Inspiron 580s and i'm looking out for a decent 1GB DDR5 graphic card. Can someone suggest which one will be compatible with the computer that i'm using?
 
OK final solution.
Sapphire 7750 offered above by me is the easiest solution, any other card would require power supply upgrade, since the PSU form factor is unusual one - TFX, not so many are available.
I tried to find first video card and so far the strongest one is not easy to find - AFOX 7850 http://www.afox-corp.com/en/products_details.asp?proid=209

If you can allocate one for less than 300 USD power supply is easy to find. If you can not find this card 7750 is the only one to go.

So as i posted you can`t if you can`t find PSU !

If you keep you current PSU the only way is to risk and upgrade the VGA and you hope to PSU manage to run the VGA ......
And then you hope to survive more than 30 minutes in GAME mode !

OK, I will try to be very polite here. This post will explain to unbelievers the PCIE power management.
First of all look at reviews of Sapphire 7750 low profile http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202002 On the first page of "FEEDBACK" look for 2 reviewers: TazarZero and Kyfeam.
TazarZero stated that this card works on 165 watt PSU and Kyfeam stated that it works on 240 watt PSU!

Next, for educational purposes only look at wikipedia PCIE explanation http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PCI_Express#Power
It is stated there under POWER: "They can use up to 75 W (3.3 V/3 A + 12 V/5.5 A)" - this mean to regular user that PCIE maximum produced power is only 75 watt. At the end of POWER paragraph one can see this statement "Optional connectors add 75 W (6-pin) and/or 150 W (8-pin) power for up to 525 W total (75 W + 3×150 W)".

Now lets see the additional power connector visually.

Look at RIGHT UPPER CORNER, do you see any additional power connectors, I don't - there is none.

In comparison lets look at any other, more power hungry card, for an example MSI 650 TI PE, this is full size card I have chosen just to illustrate the additional 6 pin power connector

And finally lets see another source, the comparison of Radeon 7750 and Radeon 6670 cards http://www.hwcompare.com/11733/radeon-hd-6670-oem-1gb-vs-radeon-hd-7750/ look at first power comparison, you can clearly see that power consumption of 7750 is only 55 watt.

Now lets take a look on your power supply suggestion Nikolay, the picture below shows power connectors of this PSU, pay attention to upper right corner picture

This is additional PCIE 6 pin power connector. I wonder where you can attach it on Sapphire 7750 low profile? Show me, and I will believe you, otherwise, don't follow blindly manufacturer statements

And final not so polite statement - know your material before making uneducated statements! People coming here to get advice, not a guess!

Coming back to original question. Sapphire 7750 low profile is the only easy upgrade available for this situation, AVOX cost a fortune and require power supply upgrade.

It`s simple for me :
The PSU on the system (Dell 580s ) is 250 W - if we belive on DELL web site info - atleast i did`s see any other posted here
The SAPPHIRE System Requirements states :
400 Watt Power Supply is required.
500WattPower Supply is recommended for CrossFireX™ System

I know perfect what PCIE 6 pin power connector is and what is for trust me :)
And i know that this 250 W will be at 90 - 100 % load or more !

and look what i found :

Okay first of all the i3-2100 consumes 40wat idle to - 90/100 watt stressed

8 GB Ram = 10 Watts

1Tb Hdd = 30/40 WAtt , if sata powered

CD DVD Combo another 30/40 Watt

7750 = maximum capacirty for PCI power fed is 75 Watt so lots do some math people will ya:

100 + 10 + 40 + 40 + 75 = 265Watt maximum stressted out computer , add couple of fans and some usb devices thats an extra 20 Watt =


285 Watts , and this is if running prime and burning a cd/dvd at the same time and running a Game at full setting as well as copying files to an external usb drive "

I still can`t advise the guy to go for it on my word !

I could not find Intel Core i3-350 (installed on Inspiron 580s) so I got stronger available in calculator, and still under 250, so?
It is useless, trying to prove something here, go to Dell Forums and try your luck proving your point there Kolia, you will see the results.

Final words 7750 will work here as it was proven to work on Dell mode3ls with 220 watt PSU, reported by users, and no problem.

Everyone have the right to say their point of view here, but no one said it would be the right one.

nolanpinto goes for the Upggrade that you advise him
And makes 2-3 h Furmark Stability Test
And after that the evedence will appear :)
If it`s smoke from the PSU i`ll be not asking reward here ....
But if it`s "10x Kisianik for the advice" - i`ll be happy that i was wrong :)

And one last thing - did you calculator count the age of the PSU ......... 90 % hhhmmm :)

I can make your card smoke right now without furmark, I have worst utility, this is not the point.
The point is simple - you just blindly follow manufacturer recommendations. As I stated in my calculations, some parts were stronger, so minus some wattage. Also, Dell power supplies generally underrated, seen it many times, look at ko888 calculations as well. You did not make any trustworthy argument yet, so humor me by your suggestions. I seen on other side many happy Dell customers with 250 watt and even 220 watt PSUs with Sapphire 7750 low profile, I lost count, and no one complained about PSU, you are the only one, and you even don't have one, no more comments here...
Your statements from now on are not even worth checking....

Hey guys appreciate your suggestions... I guess if i'm looking out for a new DDR5 graphic card and if I need good performance as well then i'll have to go for a new PSU as the existing one will not be able to take the load of a power hungry card! I do value the feedback provided by everyone.

Yes 7750 can installed in this PC, end of story, don't believe me, no problem, believe Dell.
 
I have Dell optiplex 9010 i5 with 275w. i ve installed MSI R7750 1GB DDR5 one year ago and it is working fine, but cant overclock it to consume more power. I guess if he have 250 W PS then it could not work.
