What are uses of this system ?

If you don't do gaming, then you don't need to upgrade or put some graphics card. Core 2 duo can manage all ..

Just add some RAM.. at least 4 GB for you !!

If your looking to future-proof you computer I'm going to have to that you need to make a new computer from the ground up. If you can't do that, upgrade the RAM. Upgrading RAM is a simple way to make your computer faster, but first you need to tell me EXACTLY what OS you have, as it might affect what RAM you buy.

Dell reworked original Foxconn motherboard to Dell specifications, so it is not clear if Quads are supported.
Let me show you what I found to support previous statement.

This is original Vostro 220 Slim motherboard please confirm, there are 4 possible models, because I have 4 part numbers

So, This is a complete guess and hope that Dell BIOS would support Foxconn motherboard specs, or may not

I can not find any confirmations that Quads were tested by users else where.

Hey Im hoping to get some similar help on my rig. my primary use is gaming and its starting to not be able to perform as well as id like. here is my build:

amd phenom II x2 550 OC@ 3.6
Sapphire HD 6870, OC during gaming, core@950mhz, memory@1170mhz
G.SKILL Ares Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 1600
asus m4a79xtd evo mobo
normal 7200rpm HDD

For the most part i always thought i could game without issue but im starting to wonder if i need to upgrade my dual core processor. If i upgrade to a phenom II x4 965 would i notice a performance boost while gaming?? Or would a SSD help, though ive heard that only helps with load times not FPS
