No disagreement with Jen_Sai. Those comments are all valid and relevant.
My concern is the loss of "personal" with respect to computers, networks, data storage, etc.
Originally we all had terminals that connected to central computers. Then personal computers evolved and we all have them in one sense or another.
Now the flow is going back to the "cloud" (centralized) and everything as a service. "Personal" is going away.......
Quite a turnaround as I see it.
Oooh, nice one!
Also in the modern era bringing everything together in one "cloud" surely leaves our personal information, private files open to people somwehere we didn't intend to see them? (Or want to steal them)
I thought of another thing. The current culture of "Social" networks, "social" media (not all perhaps)
Needing to all be in the same place, following trends (some of which have famously been dangerous/stupid/anti-social) all to be just like everyone else, we're losing the individuality, there seem to be groups of people who have lost thier face to face skills, and saying that there are so many young people that cannot string a proper sentence together without auto correct
🙁
Are we completely spoilt with these tools that will simply do it for us, need never bother to learn anything from a book, just Google it.
Surely there's an essay on Wikipedia all about it
😛
Also...I know I'm going on a bit now, photoshop.
I love photoshop, I enjoy creating art with it, making my snaps look prettier than they did on the day, however, the images so often produced to put on the front cover of a magazine are unattainable, unrealistic lies...Should society take responsibility or the editors who believe these altered images are what "we" prefer (to buy)
(With exception of "Creative Photoshop" etc lol)
