Should i get a new processor?
I have a budget, so
first off, i have a radeon 7850 HD
im thinking of switching CPU and motherboard as well though, because this 7850 seems to be glitchy so im definitely going to sell it
i have a 6670 hd as well as back up, that works fine but the 7850 does not.
when i bought the 7850 i had to buy a power supply as well. i had the power supply upside down at first, didnt know why it kept blowing out...dont know if it damaged anything, everything seems to work fine. i just know that with the 7850 and the new power supply, it feels like a furnace. gets very hot(it seems) and videos in games are somewhat slow and somewhat glitchy, games seem to run decent.
i bought a new motherboard when i saw this, connected everything, the power supply wire lit on fire(don't know if i connected it wrong), instantly disconnected and bought a new power supply, and it worked fine on the old motherboard, havent tried the new motherboard since. may not be compatiable with some things, im not sure, i should have came here first.
Here are my specs:
AMD FX-4100 quadcore CPU(3.6 GHz)
8 Gigs DDR3
Motherboard: Gigabyte M68MT-S2
750 mhz power supply.
Graphics Card: PowerColor AMD Radeon HD 7850 2GB
The spare new motherboard I have:
GIGABYTE GA-78LMT-USB3 AM3+ AMD 760G +
I'm trying play stuff like creed unity and dragon age, and of course upcoming elder scrolls online one time fee and GTA V.
My question is: what Graphics card should i buy if i only need a graphics card (I want to switch to NVidia because im hearing the temperature stays low, but if AMD is worth it because of price and quality i will go back to amd cuz i love amd)
At max ill spend 300 on a card.
if i should sell all this and get a CPU Motherboard combo off new egg in addition to the new graphics card, what should that be.
Tom experts let me know, thanks so much
